cosmetic preforms
Our PET Preforms are primarily used in the field of cosmetic packaging. The thread specifications include common types such as 410 and 400-neck finishes, with thread sizes ranging from 18mm to 89mm. They can meet the molding requirements for bottles or cream jars with capacities from 10ml to 1.2 liters.
Water preforms
In addition to PCO1810 and PCO1881, we also offer bottle preforms with neck finishes of 38mm and 45mm-55mm, which are suitable for water bottles. The weight of these water bottle preforms ranges from 14 grams to 90 grams. Furthermore, we can provide customers with various tamper-evident caps that are compatible with these water bottles.
plastic can preforms
Due to differences in production line equipment and molds, we do not support color customization for plastic can preforms. However, we can provide customers with easy-open lid sealing machines, caps in various materials, and easy-open lids (which do support color customization).
ROPP preforms
Currently, our ROPP preform is designed as 28mm16g and is only compatible with plastic tamper-evident caps (pilfer-proof caps). Compatibility with aluminum pilfer-proof caps would require the development of a new mold. Should your purchase volume be sufficiently large, we can offer an attractive mold cost rebate program. Please feel free to email us for more information.
PP preforms
PP is a heat-resistant material. Preforms made from PP are typically used for beverage packaging that requires hot-fill production, as they can withstand hot-fill temperatures of around 120°C. Currently, our PP Preform specifications are primarily suitable for producing water and beverage bottles.
other preforms
In terms of materials, in addition to PP preforms, we can also produce PETG, PMMA, or PCR preforms based on your requirements. Regarding the style of the threaded neck finishes, we also offer some preforms with unique finishes suitable for producing spray bottles with a clip pump. We also welcome inquiries for quotes on custom special neck finishes.
Tailored Solutions
We cater to your specific requirements with quality solutions.
We have a professional production team and mold development supply chain. We can not only provide custom mold development for your preforms but also modify existing preform specifications to ensure compatibility with your bottle blowing production equipment.
Please note that any changes to the neck finish or weight of a preform depend entirely on the specific mold design. Not all preforms can be converted to a completely new specification simply by modifying mold components.
For more details, please feel free to contact our team and share your needs.
Currently, we operate over 6 injection molding machines dedicated to preform production and 18 machines for cap manufacturing. The daily output per machine for small to medium-sized molds is at least 30,000 units, while large-capacity molds can achieve up to 100,000 units per day.
Under our automated injection machines, the defect rate for preforms is maintained at around 2%. Every preform undergoes manual visual inspection before being packed.
For projects involving new mold trials or compatibility with special caps, we conduct additional air-tightness tests to ensure quality and performance.
Production Protocols
Every step follows strict production protocols to guarantee consistency.
How to Choose Preforms for Your Bottles
Selecting the right preform bottle can be a complex task. To help clarify the key factors to consider when choosing a preform tube, we have provided a concise guide here.
If you require more specialized custom preform tubes or selection assistance, please feel free to contact us any time.
The primary consideration in purchasing preforms is the neck finish size and thread type. Even for preforms with the same 28mm neck size, the threads‘ style can be divided into types such as PCO 1881, PCO 1810, 400/410, ROPP, and others. Different neck finish sizes and thread types not only affect the compatibility with pumps and caps but also determine whether the preform is compatible with the bottle mold and whether it can be properly blow-molded on the blowing machine.
Preforms of the same neck finish size may have different weight ranges depending on the manufacturer. The weight of a preform primarily affects the rigidity of the bottle—essentially determining how thick or thin the bottle walls will be.
Generally, there is a correlative range between preform weight and bottle capacity. For more detailed information, please refer to our blog post titled "Bottle Dimensions and Weight Relationships."
It is worth noting that selecting the appropriate bottle weight also requires consideration of the bottle’s structural design. For the same capacity, square bottles, or uniquely shaped bottles typically require approximately 5 grams more preform material compared to cylindrical bottles to ensure adequate deformation resistance.
The color of the preform not only affects the appearance of the bottle but also influences its price. When providing color references to preform suppliers, it is best to submit a physical sample. If unavailable, a Pantone number ending with "C" should be provided.
However, since Pantone color guides are updated annually, and not everyone updates their version accordingly, it is advisable to provide multiple examples to confirm the final physical color appearance when agreeing on color schemes based on Pantone numbers.
The injection molding of preforms is not limited to PET. To meet different packaging material requirements, we can also provide Preform solutions using acrylic, PETG, PP, and more.
Additionally, we offer preform solutions with PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) content. Typically, we can incorporate up to 30% PCR into the preforms.
Our PCR materials are sourced from certified suppliers and can be accompanied by TC certification, ensuring they are not waste materials leftover from daily production.
Before making a final decision, you can obtain PET preform samples from PAGpackaging for testing.
Conduct physical performance tests, blow molding tests, chemical stability tests, and compatibility tests with the caps or pumps to ensure that the preform bottles are suitable for your product.
